This service is available for clients of RCH who are deaf-blind, and who receive regular Intervenor Services. The emergency must involve the client, their spouse, their children, their parents or their siblings.

What to do in an emergency situation?

   Call RCH at 416-730-9187 (TTY) or 416-730-9501 (voice) and tell the on-duty intervenor which hospital you are in or where the emergency is. The on-duty will contact the on-call emergency intervenor and give them the information.

   The intervenor on-call will meet the client at the hospital or the place where the emergency is. Other examples of emergency situations would be at a police station or your home if the fire department has to be called.

   The intervenor will not be responsible for driving the client to the hospital.
